Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity frameworks including NIST 800-53 and FISMA compliance
- Lead incident response for security breaches and conduct forensic investigations
- Develop and execute vulnerability assessments across VA networks
- Collaborate with IT teams to design secure system architectures
- Manage access control systems and identity management protocols
- Prepare security documentation and compliance reports for federal audits
- Mentor junior security staff and conduct security awareness training
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and federal security clearance eligibility required
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in IT security with federal agency exposure
- Certifications: CISSP, Security+, or CompTIA Security+
- Expert knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and tools
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and encryption protocols
- Strong analytical skills with attention to regulatory compliance
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
