Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the City's local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and related hardware and software infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot network issues, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local government security standards and data privacy regulations.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to protect sensitive government data.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff and non-technical government employees.
- Plan and execute IT projects, including upgrades and system migrations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in network administration or IT systems support.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or equivalent are highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of network protocols, hardware configurations, and server management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
