Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain the City's local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Implement and monitor security measures to protect sensitive government data and systems from cyber threats.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues across various departments.
- Manage server maintenance, patching, and upgrades in accordance with industry best practices and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and document technology projects and system migrations.
- Train staff on new technologies and IT policies to enhance overall digital literacy within the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, network administration, or systems engineering is required.
- Experience with government or public sector IT systems is highly preferred.
- Professional certification such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or CISSP is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Valid California Driver's License and proof of auto insurance may be required for site visits.
