Responsibilities
- Perform critical system maintenance, patch management, and updates on Windows Server and Linux environments during weekend shifts.
- Monitor system health and performance metrics, proactively identifying and resolving potential hardware or software failures.
- Respond to and resolve escalated help desk tickets and service requests with minimal supervision.
- Enforce cybersecurity protocols and conduct vulnerability assessments to protect sensitive government data.
- Document all maintenance activities, incident reports, and resolutions in the IT Service Management system.
- Collaborate with on-call staff and shift leads to ensure seamless handovers and continuity of service.
- Conduct routine backups and verify data integrity to prevent catastrophic data loss.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in IT support, systems administration, or network engineering.
- Valid CompTIA Security+ or higher certification is strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently.
- Ability to work rotating weekend schedules and holidays as required by state operations.
- Clear background check and eligibility to work in the United States.
