Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the city's server infrastructure, including Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization environments (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Implement and monitor security protocols to safeguard sensitive government data against cyber threats.
- Configure and troubleshoot network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Oversee system backups, disaster recovery procedures, and hardware lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade legacy systems and improve IT service delivery.
- Provide advanced technical support and mentor junior IT staff members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure in a 24/7 operational environment.
