Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and upgrade the local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) infrastructure.
- Configure and troubleshoot servers, workstations, printers, and peripheral equipment using standard diagnostic tools.
- Implement and enforce strict cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive government data and networks.
- Perform system patching, software installations, and hardware upgrades to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide Level 3 technical support and conduct user training sessions for city staff.
- Monitor system performance and respond to incidents to minimize downtime.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration or network engineering.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified SysOps, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs) and hardware components.
- Experience working in a government or regulated environment is highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
