Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the City's local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN).
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure high availability of IT services.
- Implement and maintain data security protocols to protect sensitive government data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, implement, and upgrade computer systems and server hardware.
- Conduct regular system audits and compliance checks to adhere to federal and state regulations.
- Provide technical support and training to government staff regarding new software and systems.
- Document all system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and network topology.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware or Hyper-V) is preferred.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or MCSA are highly desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Must be willing to undergo a background check and security clearance process.
