Key Responsibilities
As a Senior IT Specialist, you will lead high-impact projects and mentor junior staff:
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of complex software solutions and state enterprise systems.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and ensure adherence to software development best practices and industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teamsâincluding finance, operations, and legalâto identify and resolve technical challenges.
- Oversee system security protocols, ensuring full compliance with state and federal cybersecurity regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
- Manage vendor relationships and provide technical leadership during system integrations and upgrades.
- Document technical requirements and create comprehensive system specifications for development teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (Masterâs degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in software development, systems analysis, or IT project management.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
- Proven experience with database management systems (SQL, Oracle) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Experience working within a government or large-scale enterprise environment is highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
