Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the City's Windows Server and Linux server infrastructure, ensuring 99.9% uptime.
- Implement and enforce strict cybersecurity protocols, including firewall management, patch management, and intrusion detection systems.
- Lead the deployment and administration of Active Directory, ensuring user access security and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable cloud solutions and disaster recovery strategies.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to optimize hardware and software resources.
- Mentor junior system administrators and provide technical guidance on complex infrastructure issues.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee third-party IT service contracts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Systems Administration within a large-scale enterprise or government setting.
- Strong certifications such as CCNP, CISSP, or VCP are highly preferred.
- Proven expertise in Microsoft Server 2016/2019/2022, Active Directory, and Exchange Server.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Must possess a valid California Driver's License and meet the City's residency requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
