Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain server hardware and software systems to ensure high availability and performance.
- Security Compliance: Monitor system security, enforce compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., HIPAA, Texas Government Code), and respond to security incidents.
- Technical Support: Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex network and system issues, providing expert guidance to junior staff and end-users.
- Cloud Integration: Manage and optimize cloud-based solutions (Azure/AWS) and ensure seamless integration with on-premise infrastructure.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system configurations, runbooks, and change logs.
- Project Leadership: Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to deliver IT initiatives on time and within budget.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems administration, network engineering, or IT support.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Certifications: Preferred certifications include CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or MCSA.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Government Experience: Experience working within a government or large enterprise environment is highly desirable.
