Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex IT systems and network architectures for city government operations.
- Conduct system analysis to identify inefficiencies and propose technical solutions that improve service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local cybersecurity regulations and data privacy laws.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for critical infrastructure issues and provide technical guidance to junior analysts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new software solutions into existing government workflows.
- Document technical processes, system configurations, and user manuals for city staff.
- Monitor system performance and perform regular maintenance to ensure 99.9% uptime.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in systems analysis, network administration, or IT project management.
- Experience working within the public sector or government agencies is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and virtualization technologies.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for system automation.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or PMP are a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
