Responsibilities
- System Architecture & Maintenance: Design, implement, and maintain complex IT infrastructure solutions, including cloud migration and legacy system upgrades.
- Cybersecurity Compliance: Monitor system performance and proactively identify vulnerabilities to ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local cybersecurity standards.
- Technical Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams in troubleshooting critical network issues and delivering high-availability IT services to city departments.
- Project Management: Oversee IT project lifecycles from initiation to deployment, ensuring timely and within-budget execution of digital initiatives.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary technical liaison between government officials and IT staff, translating complex technical data into actionable business insights.
- Innovation Implementation: Research and recommend emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency and citizen engagement platforms.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in IT systems analysis, network engineering, or a related government or public sector role.
- Certifications: Active CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP), cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), virtualization, and scripting languages (Python/PowerShell).
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Availability: Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends during system maintenance windows.
