Responsibilities
- Monitor, manage, and troubleshoot critical network infrastructure during night shift hours to ensure 99.9% uptime for federal clients.
- Configure and maintain enterprise firewalls, routers, and switches using Cisco IOS and Juniper technologies.
- Respond to and resolve network outages and incidents with minimal supervision during off-hours.
- Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to comply with FISMA and NIST standards.
- Document network configurations, changes, and incident reports accurately in the ITSM tool.
- Collaborate with Day Shift engineering teams to transition tickets and ensure seamless service continuity.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, specifically within a government or defense contractor environment.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher certification required; CCNP preferred.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies.
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios) and VPN technologies.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently during the night shift without direct supervision.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess (or be eligible to obtain) a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
