Responsibilities

  • Monitor, manage, and troubleshoot critical network infrastructure during night shift hours to ensure 99.9% uptime for federal clients.
  • Configure and maintain enterprise firewalls, routers, and switches using Cisco IOS and Juniper technologies.
  • Respond to and resolve network outages and incidents with minimal supervision during off-hours.
  • Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to comply with FISMA and NIST standards.
  • Document network configurations, changes, and incident reports accurately in the ITSM tool.
  • Collaborate with Day Shift engineering teams to transition tickets and ensure seamless service continuity.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, specifically within a government or defense contractor environment.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher certification required; CCNP preferred.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios) and VPN technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently during the night shift without direct supervision.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess (or be eligible to obtain) a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
