Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily processing of pension benefit calculations and disbursements.
- Ensure strict compliance with Virginia Code and federal ERISA regulations regarding pension plans.
- Conduct thorough audits of pension records to identify and rectify discrepancies.
- Provide expert guidance and support to employees regarding retirement eligibility and benefit projections.
- Collaborate with internal legal and actuarial teams to update pension policies as needed.
- Respond to complex inquiries from retirees and stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pension administration, government benefits, or retirement planning.
- Strong working knowledge of state and federal retirement laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel (advanced functions required).
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality and security.
