Responsibilities
- Administer and optimize the city's multi-million dollar pension fund portfolio
- Conduct actuarial analysis and compliance reporting for PERA and city-specific plans
- Develop investment strategies aligned with fiduciary responsibilities and market trends
- Prepare annual benefit statements and retirement projections for 3,000+ employees
- Collaborate with auditors, legal counsel, and investment committees
- Implement policy changes per state regulations and council directives
- Lead stakeholder communications regarding fund performance and adjustments
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years pension administration or public finance experience
- PERA certification or equivalent government pension credentials
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling software (e.g., Aladdin, BlackRock)
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, GASB 67/68, and NM pension statutes
- Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making ability
- Experience managing multi-asset class investment portfolios
- Excellent communication skills for complex financial reporting
