Responsibilities
- Administer complex pension plans including defined benefit and defined contribution programs
- Ensure strict compliance with federal (ERISA) and state pension regulations
- Conduct detailed benefit calculations, disbursements, and participant communications
- Analyze pension fund performance and recommend investment strategy adjustments
- Collaborate with Florida regional offices on multi-state pension initiatives
- Develop and implement retirement education programs for public sector employees
- Manage vendor relationships and technology systems for pension administration
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of pension plan administration experience in government or regulated environments
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k)/403(b) regulations, and Georgia/Florida pension statutes
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in pension software (e.g., Millennium, Ascensus)
- SPCE, QKA, or CFA certification preferred
- Experience managing multi-state pension operations
- Exceptional communication skills for explaining complex benefits to diverse stakeholders
