Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans for 15,000+ state employees with 99% compliance accuracy
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and distribution schedules
- Ensure adherence to ERISA, OPM, and Georgia state pension regulations
- Conduct annual plan audits and financial reporting for oversight committees
- Develop educational materials and conduct workshops for pre-retirees
- Collaborate with HR and finance departments on retirement policy updates
- Manage vendor relationships for pension investment and recordkeeping systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Public Administration (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of pension administration experience with government/public sector
- SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification required
- Advanced proficiency in pension management software (e.g., Empower, FIS)
- Expert knowledge of ERISA, IRS 415/401(a), and OPM regulations
- Experience leading complex pension audits and compliance reviews
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Strong communication abilities for presenting technical concepts to diverse audiences
