Responsibilities
- Oversee daily administration of multi-employer pension plans including benefit calculations, contributions, and disbursements
- Ensure strict adherence to ERISA, IRS regulations, and Florida Retirement System statutes
- Analyze financial data to forecast pension liabilities and recommend investment strategies
- Manage participant communications, claim processing, and retirement counseling services
- Collaborate with auditors, actuaries, and legal counsel for compliance reviews
- Develop comprehensive reports for county commissioners and regulatory bodies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of pension administration experience in government or multi-employer plans
- SPBC (Pension Plan Administrator) or QKA (Qualified 401(k) Administrator) certification
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL, and pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Empower)
- Deep knowledge of federal/state pension regulations (ERISA, IRC Section 401(a), Florida Statutes 121)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial and legal documents
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder presentations and participant education
