Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Pension Plan Administrator to join our government consulting team in San Diego, CA. This is an Immediate Hire opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to manage complex pension plans and ensure strict compliance with federal and state regulations.
In this pivotal role, you will act as the primary point of contact for plan members, ensuring the integrity of our retirement data and supporting the transition of public sector employees.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans.
- Ensure full compliance with ERISA, FERS, and California state pension regulations.
- Process retirement applications and complex benefit calculations with high accuracy.
- Conduct regular audits of pension records and generate detailed compliance reports.
- Manage member inquiries regarding vesting, spousal benefits, and survivorship.
- Collaborate with legal and finance teams to update plan documents and amendments.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of government benefit changes and legislative updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Human Resources (Master’s preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in pension administration or government benefits administration.
- Strong knowledge of FERS (Federal Employees Retirement System) or CalPERS rules is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and ERISA compliance software.
- Excellent analytical skills with a proven focus on data integrity and precision.
- Ability to pass a government security background check and fingerprinting.
