Responsibilities
- Oversee the administration and management of the State Pension Plan, ensuring accurate calculation and disbursement of benefits.
- Conduct actuarial valuations and prepare detailed financial reports for state oversight boards and legislative committees.
- Interpret complex state and federal pension regulations to ensure full compliance and mitigate legal risks.
- Analyze demographic and economic data to forecast pension liabilities and advise senior management on funding strategies.
- Collaborate with HR departments to guide public employees through the retirement planning process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional designation such as FSA, EA, or CPA is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pension plan administration, actuarial consulting, or public sector finance.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling software (e.g., Excel, Bloomberg Terminal) and actuarial software.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy in data processing.
