Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft comprehensive reports for City Council review
- Conduct stakeholder engagement sessions with community groups and partner agencies
- Develop data-driven recommendations for budget allocations and program implementation
- Monitor legislative changes and assess potential impacts on Oakland's operations
- Lead cross-departmental task forces on priority initiatives like affordable housing
- Prepare public presentations and maintain transparent communication channels
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in municipal government
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Deep understanding of California's public finance and regulatory frameworks
- Proven track record of developing inclusive community engagement strategies
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research methodology skills
- CA driver's license with clean driving record
