Responsibilities
- Research and analyze complex policy issues across healthcare, education, and economic development sectors
- Develop legislative proposals and regulatory frameworks for state cabinet review
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and executive summaries for legislative committees
- Coordinate interagency task forces to implement cross-departmental initiatives
- Conduct fiscal impact assessments and cost-benefit analyses for proposed policies
- Present findings to elected officials and senior government leadership
- Monitor federal policy changes and assess implications for North Carolina
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of government policy analysis experience
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis software (R, Stata, SPSS)
- Deep understanding of North Carolina's legislative process
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance
