Responsibilities
- Analyze complex state legislation and regulatory frameworks to inform policy recommendations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop evidence-based policy solutions
- Prepare comprehensive briefing papers and executive summaries for senior leadership
- Manage stakeholder engagement with community organizations and industry partners
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using advanced data analysis techniques
- Monitor implementation progress of state initiatives and recommend adjustments
- Represent the department at legislative hearings and public forums
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Expertise in quantitative research methods and statistical software (R/Python)
- Deep understanding of California's legislative process and administrative procedures
- Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable policy recommendations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with executive-level experience
- Valid California driver's license (for occasional travel to state facilities)
