Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft comprehensive recommendations for City Council consideration
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using demographic data, economic indicators, and stakeholder feedback
- Lead cross-departmental task forces to implement city-wide initiatives
- Prepare detailed policy briefs and public testimony materials for legislative hearings
- Monitor federal/state regulatory changes and assess local impact
- Develop performance metrics to evaluate policy effectiveness
- Manage public outreach programs to gather community input
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in municipal or state government
- Expertise in quantitative research methodologies and data visualization tools
- Proven ability to draft legislative language and administrative regulations
- Strong stakeholder engagement and public presentation skills
- Knowledge of New Mexico's governmental structure and legislative processes
- Valid New Mexico driver's license
