Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive policy research and impact analysis for municipal initiatives
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations aligned with strategic city goals
- Coordinate cross-departmental stakeholder engagement and public consultation processes
- Prepare legislative briefs, executive summaries, and formal policy reports
- Analyze quantitative/qualitative data using advanced statistical methodologies
- Monitor federal/state legislative changes affecting local governance
- Manage policy implementation tracking and performance measurement systems
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools (R, Python, SPSS)
- Demonstrated experience with public policy development lifecycle
- Strong written/verbal communication with executive stakeholder experience
- Knowledge of Tennessee municipal governance frameworks
- Project management certification (PMP or equivalent) preferred
