Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft actionable recommendations for state agencies
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using economic modeling and stakeholder interviews
- Develop legislative proposals and budgetary justifications for Governor's office review
- Collaborate with interagency task forces on cross-cutting initiatives
- Present findings to legislative committees and executive leadership
- Monitor federal policy trends and assess state compliance requirements
- Mentor junior analysts and coordinate with external research partners
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or nonprofit sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, Stata) and data visualization tools
- Demonstrated success in drafting legislative language and fiscal impact analyses
- Expertise in New York State government operations and budget processes
- Strong written/verbal communication skills with public presentation experience
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under tight deadlines
- Valid NYS driver's license (required for state travel)
