Responsibilities
- Analyze complex state policies and regulations to recommend evidence-based improvements
- Develop comprehensive policy briefs and legislative proposals for state leadership review
- Coordinate cross-departmental initiatives to implement strategic policy changes
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research on emerging public sector trends
- Present findings to legislative committees and executive stakeholders
- Maintain compliance with state governance standards and reporting requirements
- Mentor junior analysts on policy development methodologies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, R) and data visualization tools
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing state-level policies
- Exceptional written communication skills with published policy reports
- Strong knowledge of North Carolina state government operations
- Professional certification in Public Policy Analysis (PPA) preferred
