Responsibilities
- Develop data-driven policy recommendations for urban challenges including housing, transportation, and sustainability
- Analyze legislative impacts and prepare comprehensive briefings for city council and mayoral offices
- Coordinate cross-agency initiatives to implement equitable public programs
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using NYC OpenData and municipal records
- Present findings to stakeholders including community boards and advocacy groups
- Manage policy implementation timelines and compliance with Local Laws
- Mentor junior analysts on public sector methodologies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or nonprofits
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, Stata) and GIS mapping
- Demonstrated success in drafting local legislation and administrative codes
- Expert knowledge of NYC's municipal budget processes and procurement rules
- NYC residency required within 90 days of appointment
- Valid New York State driver's license
