Responsibilities
- Analyze complex socioeconomic data to inform policy recommendations for Detroit's urban development initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to draft legislative proposals and regulatory frameworks
- Conduct stakeholder engagement with community leaders, nonprofits, and industry partners
- Monitor federal/state legislation impacts on Detroit communities and prepare actionable briefings
- Lead research projects using quantitative/qualitative methods to evaluate policy effectiveness
- Present findings to senior leadership and legislative committees
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field (5+ years experience may substitute)
- Minimum 3 years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Expertise in quantitative data analysis (SPSS, R, or Python) and qualitative research methods
- Deep understanding of Michigan state government operations and legislative processes
- Proven ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Valid Michigan driver's license (for occasional travel to state facilities)
