Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate complex policy proposals using quantitative analysis and stakeholder engagement
- Lead cross-agency task forces to implement statewide strategic initiatives
- Prepare concise executive briefings and legislative testimony for senior leadership
- Monitor federal and state legislative developments affecting agency operations
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed regulatory changes
- Collaborate with budget analysts to align policy recommendations with fiscal constraints
- Mentor junior analysts and oversee research methodology quality
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, or Stata)
- Proven success developing legislative proposals and regulatory frameworks
- Expertise in Oregon state government operations and budget processes
- Strong project management skills with ability to lead complex initiatives
- Excellent written communication with published policy analysis samples
- Valid Oregon driver's license for occasional inter-agency travel
