Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and develop evidence-based recommendations for city departments
- Lead cross-functional stakeholder engagement with community groups, agencies, and legislative bodies
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs, reports, and legislative proposals for city leadership
- Monitor federal/state compliance requirements and ensure policy alignment
- Manage quantitative/qualitative research projects using advanced analytical tools
- Present findings to city officials, committees, and public forums
- Mentor junior staff and coordinate interdepartmental policy initiatives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Expertise in quantitative analysis (SPSS, R, Python) and qualitative research methods
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful municipal policies
- Deep understanding of California state/federal regulatory frameworks
- Exceptional written/verbal communication and presentation skills
- Strong project management with ability to handle multiple competing priorities
- CA residency required; preference for San Francisco residents
