Responsibilities
- Research and analyze complex municipal policy issues across housing, transportation, and economic development sectors
- Develop data-driven policy recommendations for City Council and executive leadership
- Coordinate cross-departmental initiatives to implement city-wide strategic goals
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs, reports, and presentations for stakeholders
- Monitor federal and state legislative developments affecting Chicago residents
- Lead community engagement sessions to gather public input on policy initiatives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools (SPSS, R, or Python)
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing municipal policy
- Deep understanding of Chicago's government structure and political landscape
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Illinois driver's license required
