Responsibilities
- Research, analyze, and recommend policies across economic development, housing, and infrastructure sectors
- Collaborate with 15+ city departments and community stakeholders to implement strategic initiatives
- Prepare detailed policy briefs, budget analyses, and legislative recommendations for Metro Council
- Lead cross-functional teams on special projects including affordable housing and climate resilience
- Monitor federal/state legislation and regulatory changes affecting Nashville's operations
- Develop performance metrics and evaluate policy outcomes using data-driven frameworks
- Present findings to elected officials, public forums, and intergovernmental bodies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of government or nonprofit policy experience with demonstrated project leadership
- Expertise in quantitative/qualitative research methodologies and data visualization tools
- Deep understanding of Tennessee state regulations and municipal governance structures
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with public presentation experience
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders competing priorities
- Proficiency in policy analysis software (e.g., Stata, R) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid Tennessee driver's license and ability to travel to community meetings
