Responsibilities
- Research, analyze, and recommend evidence-based policy solutions for county challenges
- Develop comprehensive policy briefs and implementation frameworks for Board of Commissioners
- Coordinate cross-departmental initiatives on housing, transportation, and economic development
- Conduct fiscal impact assessments and budget alignment analysis
- Engage with stakeholders, community groups, and legislative bodies
- Monitor federal/state regulatory changes and adapt county strategies
- Mentor junior analysts and lead policy innovation projects
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Deep understanding of North Carolina municipal governance structures
- Proven track record in translating complex data into actionable recommendations
- Exceptional stakeholder management and public speaking skills
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
