Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate evidence-based health policies for state-wide implementation
- Analyze legislative proposals and regulatory impacts using quantitative and qualitative methods
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including epidemiologists, legal advisors, and community stakeholders
- Prepare comprehensive reports and policy briefs for executive leadership and legislative committees
- Monitor federal policy changes and assess implications for Texas health programs
- Represent the agency at public forums and legislative hearings
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Public Health, or related field (5+ years experience may substitute)
- 3+ years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Expertise in health policy frameworks and regulatory compliance
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SAS, R, SPSS)
- Strong written/verbal communication with ability to present complex information clearly
- Valid Texas driver's license
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status
