Responsibilities
- Analyze complex state legislation and regulatory frameworks to develop actionable policy recommendations
- Conduct in-depth research on emerging policy trends and best practices nationwide
- Collaborate with state agencies and stakeholders to implement strategic policy initiatives
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs, reports, and presentations for senior leadership
- Monitor policy implementation effectiveness and recommend data-driven adjustments
- Represent the department in intergovernmental committees and public forums
- Mentor junior analysts and oversee cross-functional project teams
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Deep understanding of New York State government operations
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with competing deadlines
- NY State residency required at time of appointment
