Responsibilities
- Analyze complex urban policy issues and develop data-driven recommendations for City Council and Mayor's Office
- Lead cross-departmental initiatives on housing affordability and climate action strategies
- Conduct stakeholder engagement with community groups, nonprofits, and private sector partners
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs, legislative reports, and implementation roadmaps
- Monitor federal/state policy changes and assess local impact on Minneapolis priorities
- Manage grant-funded projects related to urban innovation and equitable development
- Mentor junior analysts and coordinate intergovernmental collaboration efforts
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable policy recommendations
- Strong stakeholder engagement and public speaking skills
- Knowledge of Minnesota state/federal policy landscape and municipal governance
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and statistical software
- Valid Minnesota driver's license with clean driving record
