As a key member of our Policy Division, you'll collaborate with legislators, health professionals, and community leaders to develop and implement strategies addressing health equity, emergency preparedness, and chronic disease prevention. Your expertise will directly influence Illinois' public health framework while ensuring compliance with federal regulations and state mandates.
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex health data and legislation to recommend evidence-based policy solutions
- Develop comprehensive policy briefs and legislative testimony for state hearings
- Coordinate interagency task forces addressing public health emergencies and equity initiatives
- Monitor federal Medicaid and CMS regulations to ensure state program compliance
- Lead stakeholder engagement with community organizations and healthcare providers
- Manage policy implementation timelines and impact assessment frameworks
- Train department staff on new health policies and regulatory changes
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Minimum 5 years in government policy analysis or public health administration
- Expertise in health equity frameworks and data-driven policy development
- Proven experience with Illinois legislative processes and CMS regulations
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools (SPSS, R, SAS)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with policy writing samples
- Valid Illinois driver's license and ability to travel statewide
