Responsibilities
- Analyze federal legislation and regulations to develop evidence-based policy recommendations for veteran healthcare and benefits
- Coordinate interagency task forces to implement state-federal partnerships for veteran mental health initiatives
- Conduct economic impact assessments for proposed veteran housing and employment programs
- Manage stakeholder engagement with Florida's congressional delegation and veteran service organizations
- Lead cross-functional teams to execute veteran suicide prevention strategies
- Prepare congressional testimony and briefing materials for federal appropriations hearings
- Oversee performance metrics for veteran satisfaction and program effectiveness
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Minimum 5 years federal policy development experience with veteran services focus
- Expertise in Veterans Affairs regulations (38 CFR) and federal grant management
- Proven ability to analyze complex data and produce actionable policy briefs
- Strong network with Florida's veteran community and congressional stakeholders
- Advanced proficiency in policy modeling software (e.g., SAS, R, Stata)
- Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Experience managing federal budgets over $10M
