Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive policy recommendations on labor market trends and workforce development programs
- Analyze legislative proposals and conduct stakeholder consultations with industry leaders and community organizations
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for executive leadership and state legislators
- Manage complex datasets using statistical software to identify emerging employment patterns
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement state workforce initiatives
- Monitor federal regulatory changes and assess impact on New York's labor landscape
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, or related field (Bachelor's with 5+ years experience considered)
- Minimum 3 years policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (SQL, R, Python, or Tableau)
- Demonstrated success in developing evidence-based policy recommendations
- Strong written communication skills with published policy reports or white papers
- Experience with New York State budget processes and legislative affairs preferred
- Valid New York State driver's license (travel to state facilities required)
