Responsibilities
- Analyze legislative impacts and draft policy briefs for City Council review
- Lead stakeholder engagement sessions with community organizations and federal partners
- Develop quantitative models to assess policy implementation outcomes
- Coordinate interdepartmental task forces on housing and economic initiatives
- Present findings to senior leadership with actionable recommendations
- Monitor federal regulatory changes affecting DC governance
- Mentor junior analysts on policy research methodologies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Expertise in quantitative data analysis (SPSS, R, or Python)
- Proficiency in drafting legislative language and regulatory frameworks
- Valid DC government security clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Demonstrated success in cross-functional project management
- Knowledge of DC's Home Rule Act and local governance structures
