Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate municipal policies for housing, transportation, and economic development initiatives
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research and prepare comprehensive policy briefs for City Council review
- Coordinate cross-departmental projects and lead stakeholder engagement with community groups
- Analyze legislative impacts and recommend regulatory adjustments to align with city goals
- Present policy recommendations to executive leadership and elected officials
- Manage grant-funded projects and compliance reporting for state/federal programs
- Mentor junior analysts and maintain policy databases for transparency
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of policy analysis experience in municipal or state government
- Expertise in Sacramento's governmental structure and California regulatory frameworks
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and statistical software
- Demonstrated success in managing complex policy initiatives from concept to implementation
- Valid California driver's license and ability to attend evening/weekend community meetings
- Clearance for government background investigation and fingerprinting
