Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate municipal policies using quantitative analysis and stakeholder engagement
- Lead cross-departmental projects addressing housing affordability, climate action, and social equity
- Present policy recommendations to City Council and executive leadership
- Manage $2M+ grant programs for community-based initiatives
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses and fiscal impact assessments
- Mentor junior analysts and supervise research interns
- Monitor federal/state legislative changes affecting Seattle residents
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years experience in government policy development or public sector consulting
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis (R, Python, or Stata)
- Demonstrated success in securing competitive grants and funding
- Expert knowledge of Washington State administrative codes
- Superior written/verbal communication with diverse audiences
- Valid Washington State driver's license
- Portfolio of published policy briefs or legislative testimony
