Responsibilities
- Analyze complex economic data and policy trends to inform strategic recommendations for business attraction and retention initiatives
- Develop and evaluate policy frameworks supporting workforce development programs and infrastructure investments
- Coordinate cross-agency initiatives to streamline regulatory processes and enhance business climate competitiveness
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and legislative testimony for executive leadership and state committees
- Manage stakeholder engagement with industry partners, local governments, and community organizations
- Monitor federal policy changes and assess impacts on Tennessee's economic priorities
- Lead special projects focused on innovation districts, rural development, and sustainable growth
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Urban Planning, or related field (Bachelor's with 5+ years experience considered)
- Minimum 4 years of policy analysis experience in government, economic development, or related sector
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (SQL, R, or Python) and economic modeling software
- Demonstrated success in developing evidence-based policy recommendations with measurable outcomes
- Strong understanding of Tennessee's economic landscape and development priorities
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills with ability to present complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships and facilitating collaborative initiatives
