Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze federal land management policies using GIS data and socioeconomic research
- Coordinate with state agencies, tribal governments, and stakeholder groups on resource management plans
- Prepare comprehensive environmental impact statements and policy briefings for senior leadership
- Lead interagency working groups addressing renewable energy development on federal lands
- Monitor legislative developments and recommend regulatory adjustments
- Mentor junior analysts on federal compliance procedures (NEPA, FLPMA)
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Environmental Policy, Natural Resource Management, or related field
- 5+ years experience in federal policy analysis with land management agencies
- Proficiency in ArcGIS, R, or Python for spatial data analysis
- Expertise in NEPA compliance and regulatory frameworks
- Secret clearance (current or obtainable within 90 days)
- Demonstrated success in multi-stakeholder consensus building
