Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy data and develop actionable recommendations for state leadership
- Lead cross-functional task forces on emerging public policy issues
- Prepare comprehensive legislative briefs and testimony for state senate committees
- Design and implement performance metrics for state agency programs
- Conduct stakeholder analysis and facilitate community engagement sessions
- Maintain compliance with state administrative code requirements
- Mentor junior analysts through the State Government Fellowship Program
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, or SAS)
- Demonstrated success in presenting policy recommendations to executive leadership
- Deep knowledge of New Mexico's administrative code and legislative processes
- Valid New Mexico driver's license with clean driving record
- Professional certification in Policy Analysis (e.g., PPPI) preferred
