Responsibilities
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations through quantitative research and stakeholder consultations
- Analyze legislative impacts and draft comprehensive policy briefs for cabinet-level review
- Collaborate with cross-agency teams to implement state initiatives across 12 departments
- Present findings to legislative committees and executive leadership using data visualization tools
- Monitor federal regulatory changes and assess implications for California's compliance frameworks
- Mentor junior analysts and manage project timelines with accountability metrics
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years progressive policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis (SPSS, R) and policy modeling software
- Demonstrated success in drafting legislation and navigating California's regulatory landscape
- Valid California driver's license and ability to travel statewide for field research
- Clearances: Background check, fingerprinting, and financial disclosure compliance
- Certification in Project Management (PMP) or equivalent preferred
