Responsibilities
- Analyze complex urban policy issues and develop data-driven recommendations
- Research and draft legislation, reports, and policy briefs for NYC-focused initiatives
- Coordinate with state agencies, city officials, and community stakeholders
- Monitor implementation of policies affecting NYC metropolitan area
- Present findings to senior leadership and legislative committees
- Manage policy projects from conception to implementation
- Stay current on federal regulations affecting New York State
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Expertise in NYC-specific issues (housing, transportation, economic development)
- Advanced quantitative and qualitative research skills
- Proficiency in policy analysis software (e.g., SAS, R, Stata)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
- Demonstrated success in influencing policy decisions
- Valid New York State driver's license (if applicable to travel)
