Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive policy recommendations through rigorous data analysis and stakeholder engagement
- Lead complex research projects on economic development, healthcare access, and environmental sustainability
- Prepare legislative briefings, testimony, and executive summaries for senior officials
- Coordinate interdepartmental task forces to align policy implementation across state agencies
- Monitor federal regulatory changes and assess impacts on New York's operational framework
- Manage grant programs and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements
- Mentor junior analysts and maintain best practices in policy development methodologies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or related field
- Minimum 5 years progressive policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Expertise in quantitative/qualitative research methodologies and statistical analysis
- Proven track record of drafting legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and statistical software
- Deep understanding of New York State government operations and legislative processes
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills with ability to translate complex concepts
