Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive policy research and analysis on urban development initiatives
- Develop actionable recommendations through quantitative modeling and stakeholder engagement
- Draft legislative briefs and testimony for Council review and public hearings
- Oversee interagency task forces focused on housing affordability and climate resilience
- Manage performance metrics for policy implementation using DC's open data portal
- Present findings to executive leadership and community stakeholders
- Mentor junior analysts through collaborative policy development workshops
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field (5+ years experience may substitute)
- Minimum 3 years in government or nonprofit policy development
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, Stata, or Python)
- Demonstrated experience with federal grant compliance (OMB, HUD guidelines)
- Expert knowledge of DC's Home Rule Charter and regulatory frameworks
- Superior written communication with published policy papers or reports
- Valid driver's license (required for field site visits)
